The rolls of needled felts are automatically cut into spools of the required size to ensure that the cutting work is carried out regularly and in the best possible way.
The spools are used to make the bodies of the filter bags (tubes) on sewing and assembly robots, either using a classic chain stitch seam, or using hot air to weld the two lips of the filtration media together when the fibre used is thermoplastic.
These modern manufacturing tools ensure that the seams or welds are regular and straight along the full length of the bags (no "banana" effect).
The prior settings for the heat welding robots are systematically validated by a weld strength tests carried out in our laboratory.
The TESTORI Group has over 30 years' experience in heat welding.
